The reason why you have landed on my blog is probably because you want to lose some weight. HCG, which stands for human chorionic gonadotropin, can help you achieve that. As you probably know, the hCG diet was first introduced in the 1950s by a doctor by the name of A.T.W. Simeons. He thought all extra fat in the body came from a disorder of one of the glands in our bodies. He invented the hCG weight loss program, because he observed that hCG, the pregnancy hormone found in women’s urine was of use for weight loss.

The hCG weight loss program was also publicized on some TV shows, for example CBS, NBC, Fox news, CNN and more. As long as you stick to the original protocol the hCG weight loss program works very well for everybody, regardless of whether you are a man or woman. Maybe you have heard of Kevin Trudeau, he’s a favorite writer in the USA, he mostly focuses on dieting and weight loss. He wrote a book named “The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You To Know About”, in which he also mentions the hCG diet.
HCG, as a pregnancy hormone, can be taken in two different ways. You can either inject it or you can take it as hCG diet drops. At the end of the day, it’s up to you which one you choose, but I highly recommend using the hCG drops for weight loss, as they are more convenient and certainly less painful.
HCG Diet Phases – The Four Phases Of The HCG Diet
The hCG diet consists of four phases, the fourth of which was introduced by Kevin Trudeau. The first phase is the so-called hCG diet loading, it only lasts two days or in some cases slightly more, provided the person is very obese and has to lose a lot of weight. This is what I like about the hCG diet because during the loading you have to eat fatty foods so as to make sure that your normal fat deposits are well replenished before you go on the hCG diet itself.
In the second phase you can only eat 500 cal per day, which is not too much. Some people say that the only cause of weight loss on the hCG weight loss program is the very low calorie diet, abbreviated as VLCD, and they say that hCG has no direct effect on weight loss. This is not true. You certainly would lose weight if you were to only eat 500 cal per day, but without hCG, you wouldn’t have the slightest chance to keep the fat off. Phase 2 can last anything between 23-40 days. It depends on how much weight you want to lose. If you buy an hCG product, you will get detailed instructions that will guide you through everything.
The third phase of the hCG diet is called the maintenance phase. From its name, it’s obvious that the weight has all ready been lost and that you only have to maintain the current weight. This is done by eating only the good foods. I plan on writing a whole list of foods that are allowed on the hCG diet. The basic rule is, you should not eat foods that are high in carbs and starches.
The fourth phase, the Kevin Trudeau’s phase, is everything after the diet course. You only start this phase if you are satisfied with the results and you don’t want to shed more fat. It consists of a healthy diet. The allowed foods are pretty much the same as in phase 3, only this time you can eat foods higher in starches and carbs, though you have to keep an eye on your weight, and if you gain some, you should see an hCG specialist or consider another round of the diet.
